The next morning we met up with Sñr Diaz again and carried on with our hillside explorations.

Large specimens of Nolina nelsonii punctuated the landscape

Dasylirion quadrangulatum was everywhere

Big barrel cactus, probably Echinocactus platyacanthus, and more Brahea decumbens.

The morning went too quickly and we had to move on.  Toby knew a place nearby that he wanted to have a small adventure in, so off we went.

El Salto, something of a tourist attraction, is a canyon with waterfall - very picturesque.  What isn't so well known, however, is that just the other side of the far hillside there is paradise.
